| Cherokee Wisdom |
| One evening an old Cherokee, eager to teach his grandson, told him about a battle that goes on inside all people. The grandfather said, "My son, the battle is between two wolves. One is Evil. It is anger, envy, jealousy, sorrow, regret, greed, arrogance, self-pity, guilt, resentment, inferiority, lies, false pride, superiority, and ego. "The other is Good. It is joy, peace, love, hope, serenity, humility, kindness, benevolence, empathy, generosity, truth, compassion and faith. "The good wolf and the evil wolf are constantly engaged in battle." The grandson thought about this for a minute and then asked, "Grandfather, which one of the wolves wins the battle?" "That's easy." said the old Cherokee, "The wolf that wins is the one you feed." |
