The music will take you back!
Let the music take you back in time!
August presents all of this music in contemporary acoustical
playing styles picked up over a long playing career while serving
in the US Army with Merle Travis's nephew, playing on stage
with Bobby Freeman, and watching Doc Watson, Earl Scruggs
and countless picking companions perform their magic. We've
been hearing, "play more banjo," so we use it more nowadays.
Folks love this music and are always up for a little picking.
August takes you on a nostalgic musical journey through the 19th
and 20th centuries exploring the music popular in American culture as
it evolved. Throughout our history music has closely followed our
culture with songs about soldiers, lovers, chain gangs, coal miners,
hobos and going to heaven. This is the favorite music of many, who
say it takes them back to simpler better days.
August also entertains Civil War re-enactor
units. We arrange longer and shorter
American Folk and Bluegrass Music
programs to fit various audience needs.
American Folk and Bluegrass Music takes you back through
earlier times, when we built a great nation together, and expressed
much of our love and pain and pride musically, with songs that are
all important because they are someone's personal story.

August Busch sings and plays songs from great moments in
America's musical history. His music visits our sociocultural past with a
lot of picking and singing, so it's both enlightening and entertaining.

A United States Army veteran himself,
August would like to thank each of his
brothers and sisters in the US military.
Thanks to you all for serving and
watching over our freedoms. May God
speed your safe return home.
A gentleman is someone who knows how
to play a banjo ... and doesn't. (Mark Twain)
A life-long Civil War buff, August invites
your re-enactor unit to give him a call!
