A bunch of fresh asparagus from your supermarket,
use 8 to 10 sprouts per person
With enough water in your steamer pot to boil for nearly 10 minutes,
put it on to boil on high heat.

Rinse the asparagus sprouts in cold water. While the water is coming
to a boil, trim away the thick part of the stems, the white stringy part.

When the water is boiling, place the sprouts in the basket. Steam for 8
or 9 minutes until tender. Put a large pat of butter on them, and salt
and pepper to taste to serve.
An old-fashioned veggie recommended
by doctors for its heathful benefits.
Tip from August:
Rinse but don't wash asparagus. And
eat the leftovers. These are good for you.
