| The Basics: 8 ounces of uncooked macaroni 1 pound of ground beef, browned 1 (26-1/2-ounce) can of tomatoes or diced tomatoes 1 cup of diced onion Seasoning (in order of importance): Salt & pepper to taste 1 teaspoon of minced garlic (to taste) 1/2 teaspoon of crushed red pepper flakes (to taste) 1 teaspoon of chili powder 1 teaspoon of oregano 1 teaspoon of paprika Optional Ingredients (in order of importance): 1 cup of sliced mushrooms 1/2 cup of green pepper, diced 2 stalks of celery, sliced 5 to 10 ounces of frozen chopped spinach Some folks add Soups and Milk: 1 (10-ounce) can of cream of tomato soup 1 (10-ounce) can of mushroom soup 1/2 cup of milk |
